Are buying so many appliances useful?

We are living in the technology world. Almost everything we use depends on technology, we can say that without this our life will become boring. 
We are using gadgets everywhere like living areas kitchen cleaning and many more. In these areas, one of the most used area is kitchen and the most used Gadgets in kitchen are small appliances. Also we do require big appliances in kitchen as well for instance grinders and choppers, and that too come in multiple forms like wet grinders and dry grinders or wet choppers and dry choppers. 
So many different kind of appliances we can see in the market place some are very good quality and very expensive. 
We have keep buying them for our daily use to save our time and make our life more easier. Also, we keep buying products for different things but we do not realize that when we buy new Appliance we do not use old ones. 
We have a habit of keep buying new things but keep collecting the old ones as well. And many of these old appliances that we have bought are very expensive and therefore we don’t want to let them go but we hardly use them. We go to great extend to take care of the old items and we keep maintaining them, thinking that it will come handy when we really need them, rather than donating them. 
Shouldn’t we invest in multi-function appliances which we can use in diffrent ways. For example, if one machine can do multiple things, than it will save space and time, like wet/dry Grinder.  Why should we have to buy individual gadgets to do all those tasks? So keep buying things which are useful in more then one task, than your expensive would be an investment.
